Things to do and places to see
Jones Falls:
Go back on Ritz Road and turn left at the stop sign (where you turned
in)…continue until you get to a sign that says Jones Falls. It has
5 locks, an authentic blacksmith, a heritage Lockmaster's house,
and beautiful grounds for a picnic, a walk, or just a look-see.
There's a little diner for snacks and ice cream, and a formal hotel.
Can boat there through Davis Locks.
Chaffey's Locks - Hotel Opinicon
Go to Hwy. 15 and then north until you reach a sign that says "Chaffey's
Locks". Turn left. It's a lovely turn of the century rambling hotel
that features a beautiful sit down formal dinner. Reservations are
needed. The grounds are beautiful and there's a little grocery store
and diner. The locks are fun too and there's also a lock museum.
